Words with Wings Summer Camp

A poem by Elizabeth from our Words With Wings Summer Camp:

I see the water against
the rocks, and wonder
does it, too, wish to be free? Is it
not satisfied with everywhere
it can go, does it want to be
on land? I put myself in its
place. I become water.
I twist and turn and jump and play.
I am moving fast with the current.
I go under bridges
and up and down, and around
mountains. I go through
foreign countries. Then,
I circle back and see myself,
wandering away.
I have my answer.
