Symphony in Plum Purple by Kaitlyn from Franklin School
The purple butterfly flies
away from the land,
its wings open like a lilac in bloom.
It shines like an amethyst
in the glowing twilight,
going higher and higher,
like a tulip growing.
I lay on the hill, looking up
at the sky, a venom dragon
in the twilight. the sounds
around me make it sound
like the dragon is roaring.
The beautiful butterfly,
leaving into the gloomy,
but yet so happy, sky.
Goodbye bold, bright
and pretty butterfly.
