With lines like “the shivering soul-reaching shock of the water” or “I smell the sinister but sweet aroma of pine,” C.S. Porter seventh graders created collective poems about seven western Montana rivers. A collaboration between the Missoula Writing Collaborative and American Rivers, students worked with poet Sam Olson to write poems about the Clark Fork River, Clearwater River, Fish Creek, Morrell Creek, Rock Creek, Rattlesnake Creek, and Kootenai Creek. The 3 foot x 6 foot posters will be unveiled for First Friday at PureWest Realty at 101 Railroad St on April 7 from 5-8 p.m., and will stay up during April for National Poetry Month.
